작년 5월부터, 코로나 이후 오랜만의 유럽 여행을 계획하였다.

어느 국가로 갈지는 정해져 있었다. 손흥민 선수를 너무 좋아하는 엄마를 위해 영국으로.

돌이켜보면 여행하는 국가의 날씨와 그 나라 사람들의 바이브에 따라 그 곳이 좋았네 아니네 했던 것 같다.

그런 면에서 런던은  내 취향이 아니었던지라 두 번 다시 갈 일이 없을 줄 알았다.

블랙시트로 인해 환율이 많이 떨어졌을 때, 혹시 모르니까 사둘까? 하다가 말았는데. 이럴 줄 알았으면 왕창 살걸 그랬다ㅋㅋ

토트넘 경기 일정을 확인하니, 5월 중 토트넘 경기장에서 하는 경기는 5월 11일 딱 하루다.

5월 1일 근로자의 날, 5월 6일 어린이날 대체 휴일, 5월 15일 석가탄신일 등 공휴일이 많은 날이라, 1년 전인데도 비행기 좌석이 빠듯하다. 엄마를 모시고 하는 여행이니만큼 크게 욕심내지 않고, 5월 10일 ~ 5월 18일 (한국에 19일 도착)일정으로 정하였다. 

꽤 오래전 유럽 여행에서도 경유는 많이 힘들었던 기억에 대한항공 직항을 예매했다.

마침 마일리지도 있어서 각자 7만 마일리지 + 유류세 등 287,000원로 보너스 항공권을 예매할 수 있었다. 

겨울쯤에 만난 전직장 상사분이, 아들이 영국 유학 중인데, 러시아와 우크라이나 전쟁 때문에 최근에 한국을 방문하였다가 돌아가는 길에 엄청 오래 걸렸다, 는 이야기를 들었다. 

그 이야기를 듣고 얼마 후, 같은 이유에서인지 대한항공에서 스케줄 변경 안내 메일이 왔다.

도착 시간은 같은데 출발 시간은 2시간 30분이나 빨라졌다...

엄마와는 이탈리아, 스페인 등 주로 남부 유럽 중심으로 여행했기 때문에, 런던을 여행하는 김에 파리를 엮어서 여행할까 싶었는데, 엄마가 거부하였다 ㅋㅋㅋ 어디선가 파리는 로맨틱한 도시로 포장됐지만, 냄새나고, 더럽다는 소문을 들으신듯...ㅋㅋ 아닌데,,, 정말로 꽤나 로맨틱 했는데,,, ㅠ

마침 동생네 가족이 합류한다고 하였고, 그들의 신혼 여행이 파리였던지라, 파리는 제외하기로 하였다. 그 사이 런던과 파리 사이의 해저 터널이 침수로 운행 중단이라는 뉴스가 떴다.

섬나라 런던과 맞닿은 국가가 없어서, 어디를 함께 갈지 한참을 고민하였다. 런던 또는 런던 근교만 여유있게 구경할까 하다가도, 다른 분위기의 유럽 도시를 느껴보고 싶었다. 너무 오랜만이잖아. 

그리하여, 런던 대비 물가가 싸고 맛있는 음식도 많은 프라하를 함께하기로 정하였다.

ENFP로서 여행지에서의 예상 밖의 일과 새로운 일정에는 오픈 마인드지만, 준비가 부족해서 즐거움을 놓치는 것은 또 너무나 아쉽기 때문에 예약이 필요한 것과 준비물을 틈틈이 챙기기로 한다.
